Message from the leadership
At Molecular Connections, climate sustainability is integral to how we create value. Our commitment to the science-based climate action reinforces our responsibility toward minimizing environmental impact while continuing to serve our clients with innovation and integrity. The validation of our Green House Gases(GHG) emission reduction targets by the Science Based Targets Initiative Services (SBTi) is a defining step in aligning our operations with a path of defined and measurable reductions of GHG emissions as per global best-inclass standards set by SBTi and the GreenHouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol).
Our commitment to the climate action
Molecular Connections group values the need for businesses to act on climate change. We have integrated sustainability into our business strategy through the objective of reduction of GHG emissions, optimizing resource use, minimizing waste and encouraging responsible operations across our entire value chain. This reflects Molecular Connections’ commitment into action by securing the external, independent validation of Near-Term GHG Emission Reduction Targets by the Science Based Targets Initiative Services (SBTi) in November2025. This validation indicates that our GHG emission reduction pathway is consistent with the Paris Agreement goal of limiting global temperature rise below 1.5°C This measurement and validation process is conducted at the group level for the year FY April 2024 to March 2025 (Reporting year 2024), and includes parent company’s emissions as well as that of all its operational associates and subsidiaries, including Molecular Connections Research Private Limited, Molecular Connections Analytics, and Editorial Office.
Summary of our current emissions FY 2024-25 (Reporting year 2024): Details of Scope 1,2 & 3 emissions:
Scope 1 & 2 Inventory: 582 tCO2e
tCO2e= Tonnes of Carbon Dioxide Equivalent
* Total may have slight mis-match due to rounding off
Scope 3 Inventory: 1803 tCO2e
tCO2e= Tonnes of Carbon Dioxide Equivalent
Our Scope 3, Value Chain Emissions inventory mainly arises from Purchased Goods and Services, Employee Commute, Business Travel, Fuel and Energy related activities, Capital Goods and others. Same have been accounted as per GHG Protcol and SBTi guidelines.
Announcing Molecular Connections Near-Term Targets, validated by SBTi Services
Molecular Connections commits to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 60.0% by FY2034 from a FY2024 base year.
Molecular Connections also commits to reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions 36.0% within the same timeframe.
Molecular Connections’ greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction targets have been validated as science based by SBTi Services.
Measures for achieving targets:
Scope 1 & 2 : Direct and Indirect Emissions
MCPL will address Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions reductions through:
Fuel Substitution: Reducing fossil fuel consumption by progressively replacing generators with bio-fuel, solar or other renewable energy alternatives.
Fleet electrification: Progressively transitioning the company-owned vehicle fleet to electric vehicles (EVs)a and/or hybrid/low emission vehicles.
Will pursue office energy efficiency upgrades to reduce electricity consumption.
Scope 3: Value Chain Emissions
Prioritize greener alternatives and low carbon materials in procurement
Gradually reduce the consumption of office supplies and packing materials.
Adopt responsible procurement practices
Limiting demand for new equipment; When required, purchase more energy efficient equipment.
Improving asset utilization
Optimizing Energy use.
Reduce landfill disposal by minimizing food and water waste and promoting recycling.
Progressively divert organic waste into sustainable products like compost or biogas
Enhance recycling of paper, plastics and WEEE
Replace non-essential travel with virtual meetings and digital collaboration tools.
Ensure stricter travel policies
Reduction is addressed by encouraging carpooling initiatives
Promote electric vehicle commuting and hybrid/ remote- working arrangements.
Increase Reliance on public transportation wherever feasible.
Encouraging work force to stay close to the work locations are in residential friendly areas.
These combined measures form a holistic Scope 3 decarbonization roadmap for Molecular Connections, emphasizing collaboration, awareness and responsible sourcing throughout our value chain.
Progress and Impact:
MCPL established its emissions baseline in FY 2024-25 (Reporting year 2024), creating a foundation for year-on-year performance tracking and publication of annual reports.
As recommended by the SBTi Services, Molecular Connections shall strive to improve data visibility over its Scope 3 GHG inventory with more granular data collection and analyses.
Conclusion:
Molecular Connections Pvt. Ltd. remain firmly committed to achieving its SBTi Services-validated near-term targets from the 2024 base year as per the near-term targets set. We act on focused areas for implementation, guided by a clear vision to decarbonize responsibly. Molecular Connections will continue to strengthen data systems, engage employees, stake-holders and collaborate with our value chain for measurable progress toward a low-carbon future, while ensuring transparency and accountability at every step of our journey toward sustainability. This report marks Molecular Connections’ first annual disclosure on its GHG near-term emissions and the near term targets, with the intention to publish future editions annually to communicate progress to the stake-holders and the public.
Reiterating our targets:
Molecular Connections commits to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 60.0% by FY2034 from a FY2024 base year.
Molecular Connections also commits to reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions 36.0% within the same timeframe.
Molecular Connections’ greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction targets have been validated as science based by SBTi Services.
